Pohela Boishakh (Bengali Noboborsho) is The Called Bengali New Year. Every Year We Celebrate the Festive In Bangladesh and Others Countries. However, The Festive is The Bengali Community Based and its Celebrated on The Month of April and The Date is 14 or 15. Because of The First Day of The Bengali Calendar is The Month of Boishakh. Whatever, Through This Article, We Will Discuss the History of Pohela Boishakh. The Bengali New year is The Most Largest Celebration of the Bengali Culture. Also, The Boishakhi Celebration is The Traditional Culture of Bengali Community People. 

History of Pohela Boishakh

Every Festival has Historical Background To Tell Future Generation. So, Bengali New Year has an Interested Historical background Which Starts from the Mughal Emperor Akbar. In Previous (Couple of Hundred Years Ago) The Whole Economy Almost Depended on The Field on Agricultural Productions. The Great Mughal Emperor Akbar Was The only Emperor who has collected the Tex From The people During 1556 to 1609. But, During Tax Collection Time There was a Major Problem to Collect the Tax from Farmers. The Tax Collection Session or Time Didn’t Match to The Arabic or Hijri Calendar and The English Calendar of Year.

The Agriculture Cultivation system Almost Entirely Depends on its Six Seasons. The Production and Reap Time Didn’t Match with the Calendar of Hijri or English year. For This Reason, When The landowners want to Collect The Taxes, but The Farmer Maybe still wait For Reap the Agriculture Products From The Fields.

Bengali Calendar Reform from Islamic Hijri Calendar. All Agriculture Operations Were Conducted under The Islamic Calendar. But the Hijri Calendar is based on lunar Month. Besides The Lunar Year is Less than 11/12 Days of Solar Day. The Lunar years of 354 Days and The Solar years of 365 Days. Because of This, The Six Sessions is not Exactly Match with The Lunar year.

So, The Baadshah (Emperor) Akbar Realize the urgency of Reformation of Lunar Calendar. However, The First Date of Bengali Calendar is known as Pohela Boishakh. Every Year the Bengali People Celebrate the Pohela Boishakh with their Activities and Tradition across the World.
